CrossFit Level 1 Certified Trainer
I don’t come from a background of athletics; while I’ve pursued the martial art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for some time, I wasn’t an athlete in high school and learning new movements is not an intuitive process for me, nor am I genetically gifted… I’m not a “natural athlete.” My fitness training for years was straight out of things like Muscle & Fitness magazine, or programming prescribed by the “trainers” at gyms like 24Hour Fitness or Gold’s; split routines, selectorized machines, time on treadmills and elliptical machines for “cardio.”
Then in December of 2008 I discovered the CrossFit methodology, which is what I use for my training now. It has, quite literally, changed my life. After years of mediocre to no results, I’ve built strength, speed, coordination, and explosive power like I never imagined was possible for me, which has been valuable in my pursuit of martial arts. I’ve improved my health and sense of wellness, my energy level, and my self-confidence. Most importantly, I discovered how I want to spend the productive hours of the rest of my life; sharing this effective and transforming path to health and fitness with others, guiding them on the road to elite fitness.
In the words of legendary strength training coach Mark Rippetoe, “Mediocre athletes that tried like hell to get good are the best coaches.” Not being a natural athlete myself, I’m intimately familiar with the difficulties of learning new and unfamiliar movements, even when those movements are natural for the body to execute. After years of training in a gym where you’re taught that dumbbell lateral raises are a good idea (a completely unnatural movement), something as mechanically sound as a good squat can feel strange and difficult. I’ve been there, and can help you navigate the learning process with as little difficulty as possible.
I believe my passion for fitness, my passion for sharing with as many people as possible and helping them achieve new heights of health and well-being, and my experiences in mastering the functional movements of fitness are the mix which make me an effective coach. Whatever your current level of fitness and experience, I can help you improve it. Whatever your targets, I can help you hit them.

To say I am not a natural athlete is a gross understatement. Throughout my 10+ years of martial arts training, I struggled to learn every new movement and achieved my 2nd degree black belt through sheer determination on my part and an abundance of patience on the part of my instructors. One of the greatest lessons I learned from that experience is that those who struggle to learn often make the best teachers.
When I started training with QuantumFit in 2009 I had never touched a barbell, never run a mile, and was so out of condition I couldn’t do a full pushup. Nonetheless, from the first workout I was hooked. Frank has coached me through some major milestones: first mile, and then first 5k; learning proper form on all my lifts, and then deadlifting well in excess of my body weight; full pushups with good form, and then pushups with my feet on a 20″ box…so many things I never imagined I could do, especially after age 40.
In January, 2012, with Frank’s support and coaching I earned my CrossFit Level 1 certification. I love being a coach and helping people to reach their goals and transform their lives. My special focus is to spread the message to everyone, but especially to women, that strength training is vital for your health. Please don’t fear the barbell, ladies! Lifting heavy weights will not make you bulk up and look like the Incredible Hulk; it will make you strong, sexy, and confident.
Come check us out at QuantumFit. No matter what your starting point, Frank and I can help you set goals and reach them. Believe me, if I can do this stuff you can too!
